LE CHIESE E LA GERUSALEMME TOSCANA

Programma di viaggio

1° GIORNO – FIRENZE

Arrivo a Firenze nella tarda mattinata, sistemazione in Hotel. Pranzo libero. Pomeriggio dedicato alla visita con guida delle principale Chiese Fiorentine: S.M.N ( Santa Maria Novella ) una delle piu’ famose chiese Fiorentine, capolavoro dell’architettura gotica, fu costruita da architetti dell’ordine Domenicano a partire dal 1270 e completata a meta’ del 300. Santa Maria del Fiore, ovvero il Duomo di Firenze, con il Battistero.

Il Duomo e’ enormemente improntato dallo stile Gotico che ritroviamo in moltissime altre chiese e palazzi della citta, come Santa Croce, S. Marco e la chiesa della SS Annunziata.

Visita alla chiesa di Santa Croce, che possiamo difinire come un capolavoro d’architettura Gotica Fiorentina e famosa per essere il “ Pantheon “ degli  italiani illustri. Santa Croce fu eretta a partire dal 1295 su progetto di Arnolfo di Cambio e fu completata verso il 1385. Visita alla Chiesa della SS Annunziata, S. Marco. Rientro a Firenze  nel tardo pomeriggio. Cena e pernottamento.

2° GIORNO – SIENA

Prima colazione in Hotel e partenza per  SIENA la conpatrona d’Italia. Visita con guida al Santuario della casa di Santa Caterina.

Visitando  questo santuario di grande fascino si accede al complesso di costruzioni sorte intorno all’abitazione natale di Caterina Benicasa, che fu una mistica Santa Senese ( 1347-80 ).

Visita all’imponente Duomo di siena, vanto dei senesi d’ogni epoca, concepito come “ Il maggior monumento della Cristianita’ “.

Il Duomo puo’ essere considerato come una delle piu’ riuscite creazioni dell’architettura romano gotica italiana..

Pranzo tipico presso un Agriturimo . Nel pomeriggio visita di Monteriggioni e San Gimignano, localita di origine medioevale ben conservate. In serata rientro a Firenze. Cena e pernottamento in Hotel.

3° GIORNO – SAN VIVALDO - FIRENZE

Prima colazione in Hotel e partenza per l’escursione al complesso di SAN VIVALDO.

San Vivaldo e’ situato a circa 450 metri sul livello del mare; questa localita incomincia a diventare famosa nella storia della Toscana gia all’inizio del 1300 quando fu scelta dal beato un civile terziario, Francesco, nato a San Gimignano intorno al 1260 e cosi sorse in quei boschi allora solitari, folti e selvaggi. Nel paese troviamo la chiesa, le Cappelle di arte biblica, che hanno lo scopo di riprodurre i luoghi santi della Palestina. All’interno delle Cappellle ci sono statue di terracotta di scuola Robbiana a grandezza naturale.

Pranzo tipico in una Trattoria locale.   Nel pomeriggio rientro a Firenze e fine dei nostri servizi.

Churches in Tuscany  and the Tuscan Jerusalem

1st day - FLORENCE
Arrival in Florence late in the morning and check in at the Hotel. Free time for lunch. Guided visit of the principal Florentine churches such as Santa Maria Novella, one of the most renowned churches in Florence, a masterpiece of Gothic art, erected in 1270 by architects of the Dominican Order, later achieved in the middle of the IV century, the Santa Maria del Fiore Church, the Cathedral of Florence and the Baptistery. The Cathedral shows the beauty of its Gothic style as well as many other palaces and churches as the Church of Santa Croce , the Church of San Marco and also the Church of SS. Annunziata . Visit of the Church of Santa Croce, an important masterpiece of Florentine Gothic architecture, the Pantheon of illustrious Italian personalities. The Church of Santa Croce was erected since 1295, on a project by Arnolfo di Cambio and was achieved around 1385. Visit of the SS. Annunziata and S. Marco Church. Return to the Hotel late in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.

2nd DAY -FLORENCE-SIENA-FLORENCE
Breakfast in the Hotel, departure to SIENA, closely linked up to the name of Saint Catharine from Siena, one of the two main patrons of Italy. Guided visit of the sanctuary of Saint Catharine from Siena, housed in the previous dwelling of the Saint. While visiting the impressing sanctuary we can step forward into the buildings complex enclosing the birth-house of Caterina Benincasa, a mystical woman and also a Sienese Saint (1347-1380). Visit to the majestic Cathedral of Siena, the pride of the Senese inhabitants of all epochs, first conceived as the "greatest monument of Christianity".
The cathedral of Siena is certainly one of the most successful attempts of Roman-Gothic architecture in Italy.
Typical lunch in a Tuscan farmhouse. Visit to Monteriggioni and San Gimignano with its many towers, two typical, well kept medieval villages, in the afternoon return to Florence. Time free for dinner and overnight stay.
3rd DAY- FLORENCE-SAN VIVALDO-FLORENCE
Breakfast in the Hotel and departure to the village of SAN VIVALDO. San Vivaldo rises up at about 450 meters height on the see level; according to the Tuscan history and tradition this place gained its importance since the beginning of the early XIV century, when Francesco, a blissful tertiary, born in San Gimignano around 1260, had discovered this characteristic lonely place, located then amidst thick and wild woods. In the village you can see the church, the Chapels housing works of art inspired by biblical motives, reproducing the holy places in Palestina. Inside the Chapels are also manlike terracotta statues of the school of painting of Luca della Robbia.
Typical lunch in one of the local Trattorias. Return to Florence in the afternoon and end of the tour.

FIRENZE E LA TOSCANA

1°GIORNO – FIRENZE

  Arrivo a FIRENZE  nella tarda mattinata e sistemazione in Hotel. Pranzo libero e visita della citta con guida alle principali bellezze artistiche.

Firenze e’ senza dubbio una delle citta piu’ belle d’Italia perche ha saputo conservare integro il suo enorme patrimonio artistico. Camminando per le strade medioevali del centro storico della citta’ possiamo ammirare tantissime opere d’arte di una bellezza inegualiabile, stili diversi fra loro , palazzi rinascimentali, cortili fioriti, monumenti e musei unici al mondo per la loro bellezza.

La Chiesa diu Santa Maria Novella, il centro storico con le sue indimenticabili strade antiche, il Ponte Vecchio, il Palazzo Pitti, Santa Croce. Al termine della visita rientro in Hotel. Cena e pernottamento.

2° GIORNO – SIENA – VOLTERRA

Prima colazione in Hotel e partenza in pullman per SIENA. Arrivo e visita guidata ai maggiori monumenti della citta storica.

Siena, proprio come Firenze, e’ riuscita a conservare tutte le bellezze che sono state costruite nel corso della storia. Siena e’ una tranquilla cittadina costruita su colli, e questo spiega le sue strade in salita. Da ammirare in questa localita, il centro storico con le sue strade medioevali, i negozi di antichita, le Piazze, tra le quali la piu’ famosa e’ certamente Piazza del Campo nota a tutti per il “Palio” che vi si svolge tutti gli anni. Senza dubbio meraviglioso e’ il Duomo di Siena che sovrasta la citta..

Visita alla Piazza del Campo, Palazzo Piccolomini, la Torre del Mangia, il Duomo. Pranzo libero in corso d’escursione. Nel primo pomeriggio proseguimento per VOLTERRA. Visita con guida della caratteristica citta’ medioevale. Al termine della visita rientro a Firenze. Cena e pernottamento.

3°GIORNO – SAN SEPOLCRO – AREZZO

Prima colazione in Hotel e partenza per SAN SEPOLCRO citta natale di Piero della Francesca. Visita al museo civico con guida e proseguimento per Monterchi che ospita il meraviglioso dipinto della” Madonna del Parto”. Pranzo libero. Intero pomeriggio dedicato alla visita con guida della citta di AREZZO in particolare agli affreschi di Piero della Francesca. In serata rientro a Firenze. Cena e pernottamento in Hotel.

4°GIORNO – PISA – LUCCA

Prima colazione in Hotel e partenza per l’escursione a PISA e visita della famosa Piazza dei Miracoli, alla caratteristica Torre Pendente con la possibilita di salire sopra a questa opera. Proseguimento verso la citta’di Lucca. Pranzo libero. Nel pomeriggio visita guidata della citta  con le sue indimenticabili e meravigliose Piazze, il Duomo, le antiche mura. In serata rientro a Firenze. Cena e pernottamentoin Hotel.

5°GIORNO – SAN  VIVALDO – VILLE MEDICEE

Prima colazione in Hotel e mattinata dedicata all’ escursione alla Gerusalemme Toscana, SAN VIVALDO. In questa cittadina si possono ammirare le Terrecotte di scuola Robbiana. Pranzo libero. Nel pomeriggio visita guidata alla Medicea di Castello e della petraia che attualmente e’ la sede della crusca. Rientro a Firenze. Cena e pernottamento in Hotel.

6°GIORNO – FIRENZE

Prima colazione in Hotel. Mattino interamente dedicato alla visita della famosissima Galleria degli Uffizi. Pranzo libero. Pomeriggio libero dedicato allo shopping e attivita’ folcloristiche. Fine dei nostri servizi.

FLORENCE AND TUSCANY

1^st DAY- FLORENCE

Arrival in Florence late in the morning, check in at the Hotel. Free time for lunch and guided visit of  the main monuments. Florence is first of all one of the most fascinating towns in Italy because of  its great, well kept artistic patrimony. While walking through the  lanes of the medieval quarters of the town we can admire works of art in different styles,  Renaissance palaces, florid  courtyards, monuments and museums,  unique in their beauty. You’ll be surprised by splendid sights such as the Santa Maria Novella Church, the historical town centre with its characteristic old streets, the Ponte Vecchio ( the oldest bridge over the Arno river), the Pitti Palace, the Church of Santa Croce.  At the end of the guided sightseeing tour, return to the Hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

2^nd DAY- FLORENCE- SIENA – VOLTERRA-FLORENCE

Breakfast in the hotel and departure to SIENA  by coach. Guided sightseeing of the  principal monuments of the historical town centre.

As well as Florence, Siena  has got a particularly well preserved  artistic  heritage. It is  a quiet and small town rising up on  a hilly area with many  up-and-downs and winding  steep  streets. There every one can enjoy the magic atmosphere of the historical quarters characterized by medieval streets, antique shops, typical squares, among which  the  Piazza del Campo is certainly the most impressing one, well-known  as  the Palio, a historical horses’ race, takes place there  every year. The Cathedral, a huge building of undeniable magnificence, dominates the town. Visit of the principal sights as the Campo square, the Piccolomini Palace, the slender Mangia Tower, and further the Cathedral. Free time for lunch. The tour will proceed to VOLTERRA early in the afternoon. Guided sightseeing tour through the characteristic medieval small town. At the end of the visit, return to Florence. Dinner and overnight stay.

3^rd DAY- FLORENCE -SAN SEPOLCRO –AREZZO-FLORENCE

Breakfast in the hotel and departure to SAN SEPOLCRO, Piero della Francesca’s birth place. Visit of the Civic Museum (Museo Civico) with the local guide and continuation of the trip to Monterchi  housing the marvellous painting of the “Madonna del Parto” (Our Lady of the Birth). Lunch in Restaurant and Guided walking tour through the historical town centre of AREZZO, in the afternoon, and  visit of the nice frescoes by Piero della Francesca.  Return to Florence in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay.

4^th  DAY-FLORENCE- PISA- LUCCA- FLORENCE  

Breakfast  in the Hotel and departure to PISA visiting the Piazza dei Miracoli (the Miracles Square), a jewel of the characteristic Pisan Romanesque-Byzantine architecture, where you can admire the most important  monuments as the Cathedral, the Baptistery, the Monumental Cemetery, undeniable witnesses of the wealth of the ancient See-Republic. On the Piazza dei Miracoli, unique in its beauty, rises up the characteristic, world-wide renowned Leaning Tower (we offer the opportunity of going up to  top of the Tower). Continuation of the trip to LUCCA. Free time for lunch. Guided sightseeing tour through the town centre  with its unforgettable, marvellous squares and churches, the Cathedral, the steady, centuries-old belt of walls that safely encloses the town. Return to Florence in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay.

5^th DAY –FLORENCE- SAN VIVALDO- MEDICI VILLAS- FLORENCE

Breakfast in the Hotel and, in the morning,  sightseeing of  SAN VIVALDO, the Tuscan Jerusalem. There we can admire the terracotta works of art by the School of Della Robbia.  Lunch in typical Restaurant. Guided  tour to the Medici Villas in the afternoon: visiting in particular the elegant Petraia Villa and its florid garden, the Royal Villa  at Castello, now a days the  seat of the important Crusca Academy (traditionally supposed to preserve the heritage of the Italian Language). Return to Florence. Free time for dinner and overnight stay in the Hotel.

6^th DAY-FLORENCE

Breakfast in the Hotel. Visit or the renowned Uffizi Gallery in the morning. Lunch in a typical Restaurant. Shopping and  other local attractions in the afternoon  End of the tour.
